I've spent more than two decades helping mission-driven organizations turn complex global work into communications that move funding, shape policy, and mobilize the people who make change happen.

My career started in newsrooms — CNN in New York and London, then as a freelance foreign correspondent based in the UK and Kenya at twenty-five, reporting for United Press International Radio, Radio France Internationale, and Deutsche Welle. Reporting from Nairobi, I realized I no longer wanted to cover the world's problems. I wanted to help solve them.

Since then I've built communications for conservation, global health, humanitarian response, and international development programs across more than twenty countries — as WWF campaign staff, as a nonprofit communications director, and as an embedded strategic partner to foundations and NGOs including the Gates Foundation.

The work I care most about happens where the mission is: in the field, alongside the program experts and the communities a program serves. That's where the real stories are, and that's where the strategy gets sharper.

SELECTED IMPACT

Gates Foundation
Developed the advocacy communications framework that informed $265 million in philanthropic investment expanding access to water, sanitation, and hygiene across nine countries in Africa and Asia.

Niger Delta Partnership Initiative Foundation
Built the U.S.-Nigeria communications program that engaged local communities, attracted international investors, and helped secure $92 million in new economic-development funding.

World Wildlife Fund
Directed communications for WWF's global climate change campaign through the Kyoto negotiations growing national-office participation from 4 offices to 18 in just over a year.

American Red Cross
Conceived, funded, and built the national Rapid Response Communications Team — 24 communicators trained and deployed to major disasters nationwide.
